Matt is an up-coming age-group triathlete with a strong passion for the sport, a keen nose for a good coffee and loves a good banter on anything fitness related.
He split his child-hood years between the lanes of competitive swimming and the courts of local basketball. Spending early mornings and late evenings at the pool swim coaching, the motivation to compete and train in the water started to fade. At the end of 2011, motivated by a close friend to get fit again, Matt purchased his first road bike and a new passion was discovered. After finding a love for social cycling, Matt competed in his first sprint triathlon in November 2012 and instantly became addicted to the atmosphere, the training and the people involved with the sport.
So it was back into the pool, learn how to ride a bike properly, and maybe learn how to run as well! Matt competed in his first long course triathlon in 2014 after spending the past 18 months socially training and racing Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons.
From that day a new perspective was born and Matt began looking at the sport with a high performance attitude. 30+ races later and Matt is looking to continue to take his long course triathlon career to new heights while travelling the globe and embracing the endurance sports culture.
